Honolulu prom couple Kelvin Abe and Kailie Grinder won second place in the national “Stuck at Prom” Duck brand tape prom outfit contest.

Each student will receive $3,000 in scholarship money for their rock-glam inspired outfits made from Duck brand tape, and the prom-staging school, Hawaii Baptist Academy, also will receive $3,000.

The first-prize winning couple, receiving $5,000 each, were Lara Ford and Cole Sudduth, of Arizona. Desert Ridge High School, that staged the prom, also won $5,000.

Third-place couple Brooke Wallace and Mark Aylward and the Kansas high school that hosted their prom, have won $2,000.

Consolation prizes were awarded for best accessories made from Duck tape.
