Daniel moves past Hawaii; Emilia expected next week

This satellite image taken this morning shows Tropical Storm Emilia and Hurricane Fabio. Emilia is expected to weaken to a tropical depression by Sunday and Fabio is expected to move north into cooler waters.
The remnants of Daniel have moved past the islands without much effect on our weather.
The National Weather Service ended a high surf advisory for Hawaii island at noon today as surf generated as the storm approached dies down.
The low pressure system cause a slight increase in tradewinds and brought a little extra moisture to windward and mauka areas.
Kawainui Stream at Onomea saw .85 inches of rain in the 24 hour period ending at 5 a.m. Pahoa saw .62 inches.
On Oahu, .73 inches fell on the Oahu Forest Reserve in the Koolaus. at .73 inches fell in Ahuimanu Loop. Mt. Waialeale on Kauai saw 1.44 inches of rain.
What’s left of Daniel moved west of the islands and was about 550 miles west, southwest of Lihue Saturday night.
Tropical Storm Emilia is following a similar path to Daniel and should enter the Central Pacific Hurricane Zone, about 1,000 miles from Hawaii sometime Sunday.
Forecasters expect Emilia to weaken to a tropical depression and then a remnant when it reaches Hawaii around Wednesday of next week.
