Bull chased by hunting dogs injures Waimanalo man

A man in his 50s was seriously injured by a runaway bull Tuesday on Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo.

Police said a man was hunting with his four dogs in an area where the bull was grazing when the dogs attacked the bull, causing it to flee into a yard on Kalanianaole about 4:50 p.m.

A resident saw the bull running in his yard and alerted his father, who was later injured and taken to the hospital with head injuries and abrasions, police said.

Emergency radio reports said the bull had hit the man. An Emergency Medical Services supervisor said the man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police said the bull was “put down.”
