Southern California, the University of Hawaii’s season-opening football opponent, is No. 3 in the preseason USA Today Coaches’ poll released today.

The Trojans, who play UH Sept. 1 in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, received 19 first-place votes and were ranked behind Louisiana State and Alabama.

Boise State, of the Mountain West Conference, is ranked No. 22.
