Aniya, Ichimura combine for no-hitter at Cal Ripken World Series

Ryne Aniya and Trevor Ichimura combined to throw a no-hitter in Oahu’s 6-0 victory over Little Rock (Ark.) on Wednesday at the Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen, Md.

Aniya struck out five and walked one and Ichimura retired all three batters he faced in the sixth to end the game.

Oahu, the Pacific Southwest regional champions, finished in a three-way tie for first at 3-1 in the American Division.

The seeded rounds begin on Thursday.

Shea Yamaguchi went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored and Ryne Oshiro hit two doubles to lead the Shockers at the plate.
