A car crashed into a Kaneohe home Saturday night, causing enough damage that firefighters called the Red Cross to help residents find another place to stay overnight.

Fire Capt. Gary Lum said the driver of the vehicle suffered only minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. No one in the home was injured in the 9:41 p.m. accident at 47-411 Kamehameha Highway.

But firefighters weren’t able to “verify the structural integrity of the home,” and asked the Red Cross to help the nine residents of the rental house to find other places to stay until the house can be inspected.

About half of the residents remained in the home overnight and the Red Cross put up the rest in hotel rooms, Lum said.
