Police arrest suspect in Wahiawa assault, kidnapping
Police arrested a 45-year-old man suspected of kidnapping and assaulting a woman last month in Wahiawa.
Peter Kanohokula was arrested at 12:44 p.m. just after police issued a CrimeStoppers bulletin seeking help from the public in finding him.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of kidnapping and first-degree terroristic threatening at an Ewa Beach home. CrimeStoppers thanked the public for information leading to Kanohokula’s arrest.
Police said Kanohokula is suspected of following the victim to a store on Kilani Avenue on Aug. 31.
The woman got into his vehicle and the two drove to an area near Kaena Point where he allegedly assaulted her. According to police, he later drove her back to Wahiawa where he again assaulted her, but she was able to escape.
The victim has a restraining order against Kanohokula, police said.
