Moderate earthquake strikes between Guam and Japan
SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands >> The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck between Guam and Japan.
The earthquake early Saturday morning local time had an epicenter 465 miles northwest of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The epicenter had a depth of more than 160 miles.
There were no reports of damage or injuries. No tsunami alerts were issued.
