Surge in Chinese visitors predicted for October
A boost in visitors from China in October may result from the convergence of Chinese National Day and the Mid-Autumn Lunar Festival, according to Chinese visitor-focused Nihao Media.
The back-to-back observances mean a holiday that is twice as long as usual.
C-Trip, China’s largest online travel company reports strong bookings for the so-called “Super Golden Week,” with flights to most American cities from China already booked.
The biggest beneficiaries of the overlapping holidays are likely to be luxury retailers in the U.S., said Catherine Lin, editor-in-chief of Nihao America, a glossy magazine for wealthy Chinese tourists.
