Police raid several Oahu gaming arcades, seize machines
Honolulu police Thursday afternoon raided several Oahu gaming arcades and seized an unknown number of gambling devices and records, a police spokeswoman said.
“This operation was the result of information provided by the community as well as information gathered by investigators,” said Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Yu.
Yu said she did not believe anyone had been arrested in connection with the raids, which were headed by HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Division.
Further details are to be released during a press conference held by city Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro this morning, Yu said.
A source said six arcades belonging to the same owner were raided and that a "good number" of machines were taken.
