High surf advisory extended to morning for south shores of all islands
A high surf advisory for the south shores of all islands has been extended until 6 a.m. Saturday, forecasters said.
The advisory was set to expire at 6 p.m., but waves of 6 to 8 feet are expected to continue, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu.
Forecasters said the large breaking waves may cause rip currents and localized beach erosion.
