Mountain View man arrested for Puna murder
Hawaii island police have arrested a Mountain View man for investigation of a murder in January in Puna.
Police detectives arrested Walter Boyd Bremmer, 48, at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree murder.
Police said Bremmer was arrested in connection with the death of Robert John Leong, 52. Leong’s body was found Jan. 28 at a home in the Eden Roc subdivision. An autopsy determined Leong died from ligature strangulation and a brain injury from a gunshot wound.
Bremmer was also arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and use of a firearm in commission of a separate felony. He was being held in the Hilo police cellblock.
