» What it is: Made of fabric created from recycled plastic bottles and natural bamboo, the Armpocket is a "hands-free carrying system," according to the manufacturer. In other words: someplace to stash essential items while running, biking, walking or engaging in any activity where you don’t want to carry things. Walking a beach in swimwear comes to mind.
» How it works: You load it up with necessities, then strap it to your upper arm using an adjustable strap.
» The good: In the Aero 10, the smallest of three models, you can stuff an iPod, a house key and a driver’s license. The Aero 10 is lightweight to the point that in a two-hour yardwork session, you’ll forget you’re wearing it. Very comfortable. It was tested during a 2-mile walk holding an ID, energy bar, keys and iPod handily. Also good: It doesn’t slip.
» The bad: The spot to run the iPod jack through wasn’t easy to use. The Xtreme 30 or the Sport 20 versions were not tested, but they appear to be rather large, maybe even unwieldy, if fully packed.
» Cost: The Xtreme 30 is $35, the Sport 20 is $30 and the Aero 10 is $27. All come in a variety of colors.
