A teenager was arrested after allegedly breaking into the thrift shop of a church on St. John’s Road in Waianae Sunday afternoon.

Police said the contact person for the church drove to the church after receiving a call from the church’s alarm company about an alert sent from the church hall’s back door at about 2:55 p.m..

The church official found a boy, 15, reaching through the thrift shop’s office window, police said. The boy was detained until police arrived. The suspect was arrested on a burglary count.
