Health Department again offers free flu vaccinations at schools
Hawaii’s Department of Health is once more offering free flu vaccinations at hundreds of public, private and charter schools.
The department expects more than 60,000 students from kindergarten through eighth grade will be vaccinated this year through the “Stop Flu at School” program.
The program starts on Monday and will continue through early December. It’s in its sixth year.
State Epidemiologist Dr. Sarah Park recommends that everyone six months and older receive an annual flu vaccination.
Children not vaccinated at school should go to their doctor to receive the vaccine. She says adults should be vaccinated at their doctor’s office or a pharmacy.
