Hawaii rallies to beat Pacific in 5

Ninth-ranked Hawaii got hammered early, then hammered back Saturday to hand Pacific its third consecutive five-set loss, 14-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-14, 15-11.

The Big West volleyball match was played before 5,944 at Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Wahine’s resiliency allowed them to overcome their worst set loss of the season to open the match and their first 0-2 deficit. They are 17-2 overall and 10-0 in conference heading into their next road trip.

Emily Hartong rallied from another slow start to lead Hawaii with 20 kills. Ashley Kastl had her second straight double-double (11 kills, 15 digs) and freshman Jade Vorster added 13 kills and eight blocks, hitting .650.

Pacific (17-5, 5-4) was led by Jennifer Sanders (14 kills) and Kat Shulz (15).
