Flood advisory canceled, but heavy rains still possible
The National Weather Service canceled a flood advisory for Central Oahu, but forecasters say the threat of heavy rain still exists through this afternoon.
At 1 p.m. radar showed a nearly stationary band of heavy rain over Mililani. That prompted a flood advisory for about an hour.
The advisory also included Whitmore Village, Wahiawa and Schofield Barracks.
Forecasters say humid conditions, light winds and ground heating are creating conditions that could allow heavy showers to develop through this afternoon.
Drier conditions and the return of trade winds on Friday should reduce the threat of heavy showers and allow the vog to dissipate over Oahu as the trade winds increase.
Expect the usual trade wind weather, including windward and mauka showers, over the weekend.
