A Kapaa man has died of injuries sustained in a mo-ped crash last week, Kauai County reported.
Shane Bender, 52, died Thursday at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, the county said Tuesday in a news release.
Bender was injured Oct. 24 when he lost control of his mo-ped and crashed near the junction of Hauaala and Kawaihau roads just before midnight.
He was not wearing a helmet, the county said.
Emergency responders took Bender to Wilcox Memorial Hospital in critical condition. He was transferred to Queen’s.
It was the seventh traffic fatality on Kauai this year, police said.
