Some very luxury living is going to nestle up to luxury shopping, based on plans for a 23-story condominium at Ala Moana Center next to Nordstrom on top of the store’s six-story parking garage.

Units in the 206-unit tower dubbed ONE Ala Moana will top out at $9 million — a record for a new high-rise condo in Hawaii.

The lowest price is about $500,000, and the average is $1.6 million for the one to three-bedroom units with 760 square feet to 4,100 square feet of living space.

Sales are slated to begin by the end of the year. If sales go well, construction could start by late spring, according to the developer.

ONE Ala Moana is being developed by Dallas-based Howard Hughes Corp. with local development firms The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group.

The companies announced plans last year to pursue development of the tower, but said at the time that no timetable or other details had been set.
