Hawaii sweeps BYU-Hawaii in volleyball

Sophomore hitter Jane Croson put down 13 kills and junior libero Ali Longo had four of Hawaii’s season-high 12 aces as the seventh-ranked Rainbow Wahine volleyball team won its 15th straight with a 25-16, 25-15, 25-victory over Brigham Young-Hawaii tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Junior hitter Emily Hartong added nine kills and freshman middle Jade Vorster had six kills with no errors on seven swings in two sets. Senior defensive specialist Emily Maeda led Hawaii (22-2) with nine digs.

For the Seasiders (20-3), ranked No. 8 in NCAA II, senior opposite Lauren Hagemeyer had 10 kills. The loss snapped BYUH’s 18-match winning streak dating back to Sept. 1.
