John John Florence advanced into Round 4 of the VANS World Cup of Surfing today at Sunset Beach on the North Shore.
Defending champion John John Florence and 11-time world champion Kelly Slater posted the days highest combined heat scores in Day 3 of the Vans World Cup of Surfing today at Sunset Beach.
Slater posted a score of 17.04 (out of 20), which was the highest combined heat total, only to be surpassed on the next heat by Florence (17.80).
The event took place in 6- to 8-foot surf with swells coming from the northwest direction with story conditions.
