Maui crews find woman, 85, lost off trail in Olinda

Maui fire rescue personnel found a missing 85-year-old woman Wednesday on the Waihou Spring Trail in Olinda.

The woman was walking her dog when she got disoriented and had trouble finding her way back on the trail just above Olinda Road, the Maui Fire Department said.

The fire department dispatched at 4:40 p.m. its helicopter and rescue personnel to search by air, and an engine crew to conduct a ground search.

The woman was found at 7 p.m. in good condition, and did not require any medical attention, the fire department said.
