A 44-year-old Mililani man was charged with attempted murder after he tried to kill his girlfriend who he caught in bed with another man Wednesday.

Police said Jason Kila removed several louvers of a bedroom at a Kiilani Street home in Mililani and pointed a handgun at the couple about 8 a.m. A 45-year-old man managed to wrestle the gun away from the suspect, who then fled.

The suspect returned with a shotgun and fired once through the same window, police said, but no one was injured.

Police arrested Kila, of a Kauluikua Place address, at the scene about 10 a.m.

He was charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and several firearms violations. His bail was set at $40,000.
