Felony charge for woman who allegedly held knife to toddler’s throat
UPDATE: A jury found Stephanie Pena not guilty of all charges in August 2013.
Prosecutors this morning brought a felony charge against a 23-year-old Aiea woman who allegedly held a knife to her 3-year-old daughter’s throat during an argument with her husband.
Police said Stephanie Pena had an argument 2:30 a.m. Feb. 25 with her husband, 36. She then allegedly went to get their daughter, led her downstairs to her husband and held a kitchen knife to the girl’s neck until her husband relented and gave in to what the woman wanted.
Police arrested Pena April 4 on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
Prosecutors initially charged her with second-degree terroristic threatening, a misdemeanor.
Pena was charged Saturday with first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class C felony.
