UC Irvine sweeps Hawaii
Andrew Morales took a perfect game into the seventh inning and won for the seventh time in as many starts as UC Irvine completed a three-game sweep of Hawaii with a 9-0 victory on Sunday at Anteater Ballpark in Irvine, Calif.
Andre Real led off the seventh with a pinch-hit single off Morales (7-0), who struck out six in seven innings.
UC Irvine (20-8, 3-3 Big West) held Hawaii to four hits for the third time in the series, handing the Rainbows (7-21, 2-4) their fourth straight loss.
Matt Cooper (2-3) allowed six runs — three earned — on five hits in three innings to take the loss.
Taylor Sparks hit two home runs and drove in five runs to lead UC Irvine.
Hawaii is 1-7 away from home this season.
