Roommate charged with murder in death of 21-year-old woman

Kauai police arrested and charged the roommate of a 21-year-old woman with second-degree murder.

Steven Michael Wilson, 26, of Kapaa, is being held on $1 million bail in the death of 21-year-old Kendra Lewis. His initiral court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.

Lewis was found dead in her room Friday afternoon. An autopsy conducted Monday confirmed that she was stabbed to death.

Police believe Wilson, who was initially classified as a person of interest in the case, was living with the Lewis at the time of her death at the Kawaihau Sports Villa condominium. The two recently relocated here from Alaska.

Police brought Wilson in for questioning Saturday afternoon, before arresting and charging him with  killing Lewis.
