Police are looking for an unknown male driver who nearly rammed a motorcycle police officer early this morning.

Police have opened up a first-degree attempted murder case. Other offenses include speeding and refusing to stop, reckless driving, excessive speed, auto theft and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

Police said the driver had been speeding at 1:25 a.m. in the Honolulu area, and the solo bike officer stopped him. The driver pulled over, police said, but fled as the officer approached.

Police said the vehicle was stolen.

The officer began pursuing the vehicle and the driver nearly rammed the officer, who managed to get out of the way, as the suspect fled, police said.

Police said a passenger in the vehicle is also wanted.
