Police investigate fatal Kohala crash

Hawaii County police are investigating the cause of a traffic accident where a woman was killed when her car ran off the road at the Fairmont Orchid Plantation Estates in Kohala Tuesday night and crashed into a storage facility.
The accident occurred just before 8 p.m. Witnesses said the woman was speeding when her car veered off North Kaniku Drive and rammed the side of the resort’s banquet storage facility. The victim was pinned inside the vehicle and died at the scene.
