Man released after arrest in connection with baby’s death
Police released without charges Friday a 36-year-old Waipahu man who was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of a 6-week-old infant boy.
The infant was identified as Gabriel Mambrere of Waipahu.
Police would not comment on the man’s release from custody, but the case is pending further investigation.
The baby was found unresponsive at a Waipahu home 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Paramedics took the baby in critical condition to the hospital, where he died.
