The Pro Bowl could move to a mainland city as early as 2015, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said today.

The Pro Bowl will be played in Hawaii at the end of this season in 2014, but the NFL has not made a commitment for the next game.

“There is interest and potential to bring it back to the mainland in multiple sites as early as the following year,” Goodell said at a news conference today after the NFL owners meeting in Boston.

Goodell also said the NFL may debut changes in the Pro Bowl format in the 2014 Hawaii game, in an effort to make the Pro Bowl more exciting.

“One of the concepts discussed, as you may be aware of, is the idea that the players are selected as they are now, with the vote from players, coaches and fans, but the actual teams are actually drafted by captains,” Goodell said. “We think its exciting and has some fun attached to it and It’s something we may do this year.”
