Hawaiian Telcom sells 3.3-acre parcel for $13.9 milion
Hawaiian Telcom Inc. has sold 3.3 acres at the company’s Mapunapuna baseyard to Wasa Electrical for $13.9 million, the company announced.
Hawaiian Telcom will continue to use the rest of the 10-acre parcel for baseyard operations, according to a news release from the company.
In late May, the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission approved Hawaiian Telcom’s proposed sale and plan to reinvest the net proceeds into broadband infrastructure improvements and employee training.
The property, located just off of the Moanalua Freeway, is within three miles of the Honolulu International Airport and the Honolulu Harbor. In January 2012, Hawaiian Telcom announced it had subdivided the property into separate parcels to allow three underutilized acres to be sold.
