Kahala Hotel & Resort guests walk past a water main break with their luggage to get to a taxi or bus. The water main break near Waialae Park closed the road to the hotel.
Two days after it ruptured, repair crews from the Board of Water supply have completed repairs to the 24-inch water main and road in Kahala.
Kahala Avenue from Kealaolu Avenue to the The Kahala Hotel & Resort was reopened at 3:15 a.m. this morning, according to a BWS spokesperson. Water service was restored at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Five customers had been without water service.
The break to the water main, which was originally installed in 1952, was reported Thursday morning at 5:35 a.m.
