Electric vehicle drivers on the lookout for a charging station now can use a mobile app to find the nearest one, no matter where they are around the islands.

The Hawaii State Energy Office has released “EV Stations Hawaii,” an app that plots publicly available electric vehicle charging stations around the state. It was created in conjunction with Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC, the state’s Internet portal manager.

The app is available for Apple and Android smartphones and mobile devices through the operating systems’ usual online stores, though “EV Stations Hawaii” can be downloaded for free.

The app also can be downloaded from the energy office website using a mobile browser.
