Coast Guard searches for missing crewman south of Hawaii
The Coast Guard is searching for a 41-year-old Filipino crew member of a container ship who may have fallen overboard about 1,200 miles south of Hawaii island.
The man was last seen Tuesday night on the Ocean Grace, a Singaporean-flagged ship, Coast Guard spokesman Chief Petty Officer Kurt Fredrickson said.
The Coast Guard received a call at 7 a.m. Wednesday and launched a C-130 plane at about noon.
Fredrickson said the crewman was unaccounted for, but he has no further information on why they suspect he may have gone overboard.
