Police arrested two men who allegedly tried to steal construction equipment and copper from a private contractor in Pearl City.

According to police, a security guard witnessed the first suspect, a 48-year-old Pearl City man, take the tools and spools of copper from a storage unit while the other suspect, a 32-year-old Waipahu man, stood watch.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of theft of copper.
