Traffic stops lead to arrests of 5 juveniles for alleged thefts
Routine traffic stops led to the arrests of five juveniles in two separate incidents recently.
Police said a patrol sergeant pulled over a moped for a traffic violations and learned the moped had been stolen.
The sergeant arrested the 13-year-old moped driver on suspicion of driving a stolen moped. Officers then discovered the boy had a credit card belonging to another person, police said. The teenager was also arrested on suspicion of credit card theft.
In another incident on Tuesday night, a patrol officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and then received information about a theft at a Kalihi store.
The vehicle’s occupants, four juvenile boys, matched the description of the theft suspects and the officers arrested the boys.
