Honomu man charged with 2 attempted robberies in Hilo

Hawaii County authorities Friday charged a 37-year-old Honomu man for two attempted robberies in Hilo on Wednesday.

Police said Kris Villasista allegedly tried to rob a gas station and a recycling center.

Villasista was charged Friday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and two counts of attempted robbery. His bail was set at $110,000.

He is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Monday.
