Witnesses tackle man who runs from Wash. bank with cash
EVERETT, Wash. >> An Everett, Wash., police spokesman says people noticed when a man approached a Wells Fargo bank branch with a shirt covering the lower part of his face and paint on the upper part. And the passers-by called police.
Spokesman Aaron Snell says when the man ran out of the bank carrying a wicker basket of cash Tuesday afternoon, the witnesses gave chase.
Snell says as the man crossed a street, he ran into the back of a truck and dropped the basket of cash. By that time, the group of about six pursuers caught up and tackled him, holding him until police arrived.
The spokesman says the 30-year-old man was checked out at a hospital for minor injuries before being booked into jail for investigation of robbery.
