Near-drowning reported at Heeia Kea Pier
A man was in critical condition after suffering a near-drowning near Heeia Kea Pier in the Kaneohe area, according to Honolulu’s Emergency Medical Services.
The man, reportedly a Japanese visitor in his 70s, was snorkeling somewhere off the pier when he was brought to shore close to 1:55 p.m., EMS said.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was in progress when he was brought to shore, and paramedics took over treatment of the man before transporting him to the hospital.
