Big Isle man to stand trial for wife’s ’08 death
HILO » A 44-year-old Big Island man indicted on a murder charge in the 2008 death of his wife has been ordered to stand trial.
Alexander Malani Gambsky pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder Monday. Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports trial is scheduled for Jan. 13.
Gambsky was indicted in the death of 34-year-old Dawn Mancilla Gambsky. Friends reported her missing in July 2008. Her skeletal remains were found the following month in a shallow grave in the backyard of the home the couple shared in Orchidland.
Her body was identified by dental records.
Her husband was indicted after witnesses were re-interviewed. He’s being held on $1 million bail.
