Maui man, 55, charged in car break-in

Maui police arrested and charged a 55-year-old Haiku man for allegedly breaking into a vehicle in Kahului this afternoon.

Officers responded to a 1:49 p.m. in-progress car break-in on Lalo Street.

Witnesses identified the suspect, Robert Corniel, who was found a short time after the break-in.

Officers arrested Corniel on two counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

He was charged on those offenses, and his bail was set at $10,000.
