UH Manoa’s ‘Move with Aloha’ parade to highlight bikes, skateboards
A new University of Hawaii at Manoa campus policy pertaining to bicycles, skateboards and other coasting devices will be introduced Wednesday morning with a "Move with Aloha" parade.
UH Manoa students, faculty and staff are expected to take part in the parade, with some marchers walking bicycles and carrying skateboards in campus "Share Zones." Led by Chancellor Tom Apple, the event will is slated to start at 10:15 a.m. at Kennedy Theatre on East-West. The parade route will take marchers to McCarthy Mall, Varney Circle, Legacy Path, and ending at Hamilton Library at about 11:30 a.m.

According to the Move with Aloha campus initiative, bicycles, skateboards, and other coasting devices are requested to be walked through designated Share Zone Areas during periods of high pedestrian foot traffic. Among the Share Zone Areas: McCarthy Mall and Legacy Path; Sustainability Courtyard; and the campus athletic complex, including Gym 1 and Gym 2.
The Move with Aloha campaign was launched to support sustainable modes of transportation and promote safety as a priority when moving through campus.
