Hawaiian Airlines passenger traffic up 5.8%
Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger traffic rose 5.8 percent in August from the same month a year ago as the rapidly expanding carrier added more flights.
The state’s largest airline said today it transported 928,616 passengers compared with 877,362 a year ago. Hawaiian’s load factor, or the percentage of seats filled, increased 1 percentage point to 85.3 percent from 84.3 percent.
Revenue passenger miles, or one paying passenger transported one mile, rose 9 percent to 1.3 million from 1.2 million while available seat miles, or one seat transported one mile, increased 7.8 percent to 1.5 million from 1.4 million.
