Police arrest suspects in North Shore beach thefts
Honolulu police arrested two suspects in separate cases involving items stolen from beaches on the North Shore.
Police said they recovered a credit card that was stolen from a beach last month when officers from the Wahiawa Crime Reduction Unit pulled over a 51-year-old woman in a traffic stop Tuesday.
The card had been reported stolen by a 45-year-old tourist, who said his bag was taken from a beach last month, police said.
Meanwhile, two women reported they left their belongings while swimming on the North Shore Tuesday and when they returned the items were missing.
A witness gave police a description of a possible suspect.
Officers located a 37-year-old woman nearby and arrested her on suspicion of theft.
