Kaneohe woman indicted in deadly crash

A grand jury has indicted a 21-year-old Kaneohe woman on charges of negligent homicide for a deadly Big Island crash in July 2012.

The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reported today (http://bit.ly/1aN9J1i ) that Tiana Sagapolutele-Silva turned herself in this week to a police station in Kailua-Kona, then posted bail and was released.

Police say Sagapolutele-Silva was driving with three other passengers when she tried to pass another car and hit it. Police say her car ran off the highway and flipped, ejecting 19-year-old Christine C.R. Laeda. Authorities say Laeda was not wearing a seatbelt.

Sagapolutele-Silva is charged with first-degree negligent homicide and three counts of third-degree assault.
