Car owner detains would-be car thief for police
Prosecutors charged a 48-year-old man for allegedly trying to steal another man’s car in Waipahu.
Police said Ulysses Kim entered a 58-year-old man’s vehicle between 10:35 p.m. and 10:42 p.m. Monday.
The older man confronted the suspect, who then tried to flee. The 58-year-old held the suspect until police arrived.
Kim was arrested and charged with attempted auto theft, first-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree auto break-in.
Bail was set at $50,000.
