A 21-year-old man was in critical condition Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while he was waiting for a bus on the mauka side of Pearlridge Shopping Center.

The incident near Moanaloa Road and Ualo Street took place at about 12:45 p.m., when the vehicle was involved in a separate crash and veered into the man, who fell over a railing, authorities said.

The man, who lives in Aiea, was taken to a hospital.

Police said the 22-year old female driver was in serious condition when she was taken to a hospital.

It’s the second time in a week that a pedestrian was struck by a car on Moanalua Road.

A 63-year-old woman pedestrian died Wednesday about a block away, when a motor vehicle was also involved in an accident with another vehicle and struck her.
