Maui police are investigating the shooting death of a 62-year-old Kula man Sunday.

According to police, Theodore Cabos Jr. was hunting with family at Haleakala Ranch around 11:36 a.m. when he was apparently shot in the head as a result of an accidental discharge of a firearm.

Cabos was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation did not reveal any evidence of foul play, police said.
