Army coach Rich Ellerson got a victory shower after his team beat SMU.

Army comes off consecutive open dates to play the University of Hawaii Saturday and Black Knights football coach Rich Ellerson said, "we’re obviously tired of practicing for these guys and we’re looking forward to playing them."

Army (3-7) will have 20 days between its Nov. 9 loss to Western Kentucky and Saturday’s game with the Rainbow Warriors (0-11) at Aloha Stadium.

"We’re as hungry as I’ve ever seen a football team (and) we are excited to play," Ellerson told a media teleconference today in New York. "We’re looking forward to that game."

Ellerson said it was awkward having a two-week break, saying, "this is almost like bowl preparation in the middle of the season."

Army leaves New York Wednesday after a morning practice and is scheduled to practice in Honolulu on Thursday and Friday.

Ellerson said the winless ‘Bows "are going to play like there is no tomorrow because, for them, there is no tomorrow. This is their last game and all the emotions that go along with that."

"You know you are in for a football game," Ellerson said. "Just believe what the tape says ’cause you know it is going to be a knockdown, drag out (game)."
