The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 46-year-old northern California visitor, who died after he was taken in critical condition to the hospital after nearly drowning Monday at Ko Olina, as Chester Ballesteros.

An autopsy will be conducted this morning to determine cause of death.

Ballesteros, of Campbell, a suburb of San Jose, was hospitalized in critical condition following a near drowning at Lagoon 4 of Ko Olina Resort Monday afternoon, the city Department of Emergency Services said. The incident occurred about 12:30 p.m.
